Just Why?

This is Exhibit A.  This is also what was on the nighttime buffet at a recent restaurant in a casino located in Greenville, MS.  This picture sums up much of my travels.  It sums up many conversations and text messages exchanged during my weekly travels.

Why?  Just why?  And, you may be asking why am I eating at a buffet.  Or you may even be thinking that I signed up for this by eating at a casino buffet.  I would agree.  And, I'm still wondering why.

It's pig feet.  I don't want to know how these were prepared or how they are seasoned.  But those casino meals of crab legs, prime rib or even boiled shrimp are nowhere to be seen here.  Those items have been replaced by pig feel nestled between scalloped potatoes and macaroni and cheese.  Because, if you were wondering (and you probably weren't) what should be eaten with pig feet, why a cheesy starch of course!

Right now, Andrew Zimmer is on the Travel Channel in my hotel room.  I suppose he would have plated this dish right on up and sucked the bones without so much as a flinch or question of preparation.  Not me.  Could I just have something a little more mundane and ordinary?

Tonight's meal was an attempt to have an easy meal that didn't require leaving our hotel.  We wanted to grab a quick meal and go to bed early.  How bad could a casino buffet be?  Well, this is exhibit A.  It can be just that bad.  And, this is an exhibit of life on the road.

So, if you are thinking that you would trade places with me for a night in a hotel room by yourself, remember sometimes that dream involved a meal of pig feet.

This is a new blog started by myself and a co-worker.  After I made one more round to that buffet to take a picture of this because we couldn't let it go, why not start a blog.  Take note of exhibit A at the top of this post.  I have a million of these things that happen every year.

Life on the road is anything but ordinary.  Note Exhibit A!
